Punjab Home Department has suspended licences of seven cinemas/ theaters for allegedly promoting obscenity through stage dramas.

According to details, a couple of months ago the Faisalabad district co-ordination officer had stopped staging dramas/plays at all cinemas of the city for vulgarity and obscenity and sent their cases to the home secretary for further action.

After detailed proceedings, the home secretary upheld the decision of the DCO and suspended the licences of seven cinemas, Naz, Nishat, Minerva, Shahzad, Shabna, Bambino and Naz Jaranwala.
